Career Wednesday with Wendy Karamath

Welcome to our Career Wednesday series sharing insights from Caribbean women in tech! In each installment, we'll feature career advice from inspiring Caribbean women in tech. Today, we delve into valuable lessons from Wendy Karamath, a WiTC member and Software Developer from Trinidad and Tobago!

Career Tips

Tip #1

“Be willing to learn, even if you think you know everything already. There's a lot of information out there to analyze but anything you learn will add value.”

Tip #2

“Build a network. Everyone you meet is someone who knows someone who can help you get your foot in a door that will open opportunities for your career growth.”

Tip #3

“Treat everyone as a human being, and be kind regardless of their ethnic group. That's inclusion in my opinion. I don't automatically think that a person belongs to any group because I see a human being first. It's great to practice your cultural values but release the biases of treating people differently just because they are different. That's not inclusion. That's the status quo.”

Thanks, Wendy, for sharing your advice with our network! Let's apply these principles and pave our own paths to success in the ever-evolving tech landscape!
